Donna Wilson and Jon Almond founded the East London based studio in 2019. They specialise in developing bespoke furniture and sculptural works for architectural practices, and private homes.

Working in sync, Donna designs the pieces using small collages or fragments of papers. Jon will then figure out how to make them a reality, using his carpentry background and analytical brain.

“I am the problem and Jon is the solution” Wilson jokes.

The coming together of the two founders, Wilson and Almond results in beautifully hand-crafted pieces which often challenge tradition and become timeless, sophisticated, but not serious. The materials are primarily solid wood, both salvaged and local. They are then hand painted using distinctive and playful colour pallets. Both modern (CNC) and traditional carpentry skills are used together in the construction.

“I often start an idea with intuition, using collages to follow how I feel about the piece, the scale, the proportions. Almond is analytical, in working out how to bring these pieces to life, how it will function, and stand up to use.”

“Our most recent body of work is an example of this- I had the idea of a series of objects and furniture that informs how we would like to live. Objects that might make us think about our choices, and ourselves, have morphed into pieces for the home that act as a constant reminder of who we want to be."
